Ok, I posted the question right below this, but wanted to highlight this other problem that has been confusing me.
I had a slight overheating incident a few weeks ago so i changed out my thermostat, but found there was a leak in one of my hoses once i got the therm. fixed, so i had to drain everything again. The car started and ran fine after this therm. repair, so i decided, since i was going to have to drain the coolant another time, I may as well put the larger turbocharger, that i had laying around, on at the same time.
When i was installing everything...i knocked the plug on my distributor which connects to my hall sensor wiring, and apparently broke the JB weld job that the previous owner did on it. The plug was apparently trash (which is why it was JB welded) and when i started breaking off the JB weld, i realized the wires coming from the Hall had little crimped-on pins that fit into the plug that goes to the ECU.
I removed the junked up plastic base plug that the pins were loosely contained in, and hooked them directly to the plug (still need to know the correct order of these, so i can double check this.) This is the only thing I did to the car that is ignition related, and since i have no spark....it seems like the only possible problem. Is a no spark/start issue usually traced back to this plug? Also, is hard wiring these wires a solution....and are the wires leading from teh hall to the plug, and from teh plug to the ECU the same color?
it makes strange rrr.rrr....r..r....rrr.rrr Kinda like it's starting strong, then loses compression on a few cylinders, then starts hitting compression again. I don't think compression is the issue, since it ran perfectly fine less then a week ago, and hasnt been run since....but that's all i can compare it to.
I will be forever grateful if someone can lead me in the right direction to diagnosing the problem.
