this is a do-over and last attempt on a previous salvaged engine that didn't go well for a friend's 91T 5spd
Although circumstantial, will be inspecting the spark plugs (grudge packed on last engine, but not caught until after the job was done), pulling the valve cover to look at cam and timing chain condition, checking the manifold bolts and gaskets (last engine was missing an exhaust manifold stud and gasket was worn), core or freeze plugs (one rusted through on last), turbo housing for cracks (if can be determined more than superficial?) and axial play?
It would be better to get from a (non-front-end) wrecked 900 vs running?
Can crankshaft end-play be checked at all (orignial and 1st salvaged engine both had unusual bottom-end bearing failures there)?
