Rear windscreen problem on a convertible

Hello all. I went to view a 1994 model 900 SE, 2.3 convertible on Friday. I truly loved the feel of the car and despite the upper part of the rear windscreen having come apart from the soft part slightly, my heart was set on the car and I bought it today. As I drove it from Watford down to London I absolutely was in awe and just how good this car felt to drive. I have 2 issues however with my car now:
1) Can the rear windscreen be bonded temporarily by windscreen repair people until I can afford to replace the hood with a new one? If not, what other temporary alternatives have I got please?
2) On the way down the M1 I notice that at high speed the "Check Engine" light came on. This went away on regular roads but was on all the time on the motorway. Any clue as to what that might be please? As fas as I can see the engine has no leaks and the oil level was fine and also the car doesn't heat up.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
