Justin thanks for your reply Appreciated. I did a test yesterday by checking the voltage at the solinoid valve when tripped by the brake light switch at idle. No volts > 12 volts. Therfore solinoid OK. Upon test run it did boost higher (0.6bar) but would no hold that. it dropped back to a bit above 0.4bar. Not as good as what it has been in the past but getting better. I put new plugs in tonite cause as I recall that had been an issue on a previous occasion. (don't say it!) Now I'm interested in the resistance at different pressures measured at the boost control, to see if its a linear thing and to see when and at what pressure the solinoid starts to react with regard to base / max boost spec. Also found a small vac leak at a blocked off line at the CC vac switch and a major leak at the PCV valve.
