Convertible or hatchback?

It should mount with nuts on the integral studs and with double faced mounting tape. The tape is specifically designed for the purpose of mounting trim. Any autobody supply shop should have it. Clean the mounting areas with solvent alcohol. Put the tape on the spoiler first, spray a little mixture of dish soap and water (a couple drops soap to a pint of water) on the car's painted surface, then mount the spoiler. The tape is VERY sticky. The soap and water mixture will allow you to position the spoler without it sticking. once the water and soap dries the tape will stick as it is supposed to. Be careful not to put tape in the way of the drain channels or you will get ponding on the spoiler when it rains.

As far as what to do before you mount it, my recommendation would be to clean it really well with diluted swimming pool algecide to get all the imbeded contaminants out. Let it dry then coat it with Thompson's Water Seal. I've done several this way and it works great. Some people use peanut oil or Poor Boy's Trim Restorer, but I've found that they streak down the car after it rains.

As long as you have it off the car, open up the weep holes and drain channels on the underside of the spoiler so they are less likely to clog. Just do the areas that won't be seen, not the holes on top of the spoiler.
