The temperature went from slushy to freezing overnight...Brakes seized up...drove for 2km.....smell of burning pads.....I read the past Faqs on brake problems and one post leads me to believe that water got into the Park brake cables and caused the seizure. The next day the brakes seemed allright but after a few days the pedal wants to sink down to the stop and stopping time is greatly increased. I had noticed prior to this that there wasnt a lot of resistance when pulling on the handbrake. There dosnt seem to be any resevoir fluid loss(unless there is an internal MC failure) so can I assume that I may not need a brake master cylinder rebuild? I pulled the left front wheel and the pads seem OK. I'll check the other side tommorrow to see if the pads on that side are cooked. Any advice on how to proceed to narrow the problem down? 86 Saab 900S
