Driver's side mirror trouble (mirror came off)-93 C900

Today, noticed while driving that my driver's side mirror was flopping around quite a bit.
The mirror itself had come loose from the material under it. Only a small bit was holding on to the backing material. I went ahead and pulled it off, since I didn't want it falling off.
From what I see, the mirror mounts to this rubbery material which is mounted on a white foamy material. Waiting on my manual to show up, so I'm not sure how this goes back together.
Can I just glue the mirror to this rubbery material or for this to work right, does the mirror come as an assembly? If I can glue it back, is there a special glue for this?
my car does have the heated mirrors by the way. any help on this would be great, isn't a lot of fun driving around without that mirror.
thanks!
