Yep, it defies logic really... here's what I've determined from far far too much junkyard research about c900 seat mounts, front seat belts, swapping leather around, converting passive belt cars to regular belts, and messing with center consoles in 3 doors:
86 AND OLDER:
Seat Mounts = Old style hook/loop rear mounts
Seat Belts = Triangle shaped belt clips, Latches bolted to floor
Center Consoles = Old style
Seat Leather Covers = Old c900 style
87-89 WITH PASSIVE BELTS:
Seat Mounts = 4 bolt pattern compatible w/ 9000 style seats but note, the seats are not 9000 seats.
Seat Belts = Passive, but latch for shoulder belt bolted to floor, not seats
Center consoles = Old style
Seat Leather Covers = 9000 style, but not exactly the same, 9000 covers from at least early 9000 seats go on just fine but require a bit of finessing. You can get them looking perfect FYI.
90 AIRBAG CARS:
Seat Mounts = Old c900 hook/loop style (like 86 and olders)
Seat Belts = Only compatible with this year, latches bolt to floor
Center Consoles = Old style
Seat Leather Covers = old c900 style. Passive belt car seat leather and 9000 leather don't fit on these seats well. I tried, it didn't look good.
91+ AIRBAG CARS:
Seat Mounts = 4 bolt compatible w/ 9000 style seats
Seat Belts = Reels are same as the 90 airbag cars; however latches are attached to seats instead of floor (ie they're on the seats like 9000's)
Center Consoles = New style (note: accordion piece is also different and made of hard plastic instead of rubber
Seat Leather Covers = 9000 style
I welcome any comments or adjustments to the above... I think I got it right.
