I would keep the commemorative car original, but again, that's my opinion and this is your car. I think the best way to keep the tan top hidden is to drive around with the top down.
On the same topic, I'm thinking of having my '92 convertible repainted in another year or two (maybe 2008's tax return, we'll see). Someone really overdid it with a buffer or steel wool on the passenger side. My convert is a simple S (I haven't done LPT yet) so I really don't care that much about originality. The Mister Sunshine 1992-onward S rims are going to go, once I can get my hands on something different. That bypass valve is headed out next month. Then again, I'm torn between Le Mans blue with a black top (as the car has now) and with the blue top featured a few months after this one was built. Originally I wanted all blue, but the medium blue used in the blue top has kind of fallen out of favor with me. I don't know why I don't like it anymore, aside from making the car look to chintzy, so I think I'll stick with the bruisemobile (black and blue). The newer style spoiler originally was too large for me, but then I figured out it helps to put down a steady black-meets-blue border all the way around. It gives the car a nice little two-level effect with a little path running down the middle (a path, a path!) but I digress yet again.
I have noticed that european-spec cars do not have the narrow gray belt-line trim piece stuck to the car with adhesive. Has anyone left them off? I think US cars got this 1982 and later. I just think the car will look a little cleaner like that. Look up the 900 promotional videos on the net and you should see them.
Opinions? Trim, no trim? Black and blue versus dark blue and medium blue? The interior is grey if that matters.
