I would throw a dart at the O2 sensor. Once you get the rich fuel problem solved, put two cans of Techron Concentrate 20 oz bottle through the tank. You probably have lots of carbon buildup on the valves and that could lower the compression from the valves not completely closing. But, the head gasket between 2 and 3 is a good place for failures to begin. You may have a gasket failing. Does the coolant reservoir have pressure in the tank when the engine is cold? Does it pphffftt when you crack the cap? That would be your head gasket talking.
If the cam timing was off, it would have a really rough idle. If it was off enough to change the compression, you have big probs.
