Just cracked UPPER driver side control arm

Just climbed out of the AAA truck that hauled my crippled Saab here. Luckily happened in a parking lot - - hit the brakes to give the right of way to a guy plowing the lot, when a bang and steering control went to mush, crawled the lame thing thru the snow and sort of into a parking spot.
Driver-side front wheel cocked at a crazy angle, UPPER control arm cracked in near the pivot point where lower ones are said to crack.
So now to figure out what's in store for work to fix it. Guess I better get a Scantech replacement, if they're available. I don't relish pulling one of these out at a junkyard and that one could be ready to crack too.
Maybe a local indy will have a good piece already pulled or on a half-stripped wreck.
Any ideas on the work I face? I've read that upper driver side arm can't be done without pulling motor, but also think someone has posted on here how to do just that.
