Today was my first experience at a junk yard that you can pull your own parts off. I was looking for a hood for my girlfriends Cadillac, and really was not looking for Saab parts...I didnt think I really needed any...but...I guess I was wrong. As I was walking around, I found all kinds of stuff i thought i needed. But anyway, there were like 5 or 6 900's there. A few hatchbacks, a few 4 doors, and even a 1987 trubo convertible. And 5 or 6 9000's too. Most of the cars were almost still 100% intact except for the reason why they were there, accident damage, or bad tranny or motor. All of them had good fronts and backs, most damage was limited to side impacts or lighter body damage, but im sure the insurance company totaled them out anyway. So...I ask, is there anything worth of any value that I should be pulling off these cars to resell or ebay or something? I want to get some work done on my 87 900T Convertible and I thought that if I get some rare parts I could ebay them to finace my project. Just to give an Idea how cheap these parts went for, here is what I bought today. 2 hood orniments like new, a trunk orniment, a glove box door, the chrome strip in the front right side of the bumper, right rear bumper extension, left front turn signal/cornering light, a trunk spoiler off of a 4-door, and a hard boot for the convertible top, complete in the carrying case. All this, for $26.50. Ya think I got a deal. Im thinking so. So, could anyone please tell me what I should be taking off these cars before they are sent to the crusher. They usually keep cars for a few months before they get rid of them. There is one hatchback with the black whale tail. I see one on ebay right now for a bid of $300. Any suggestions, im Open. Thanks for all the future wisdom you will bestow upon me.
