Did you bleed the oil system? There is a hollow bolt in the cam cap that has to be cracked open while the engine is turned over. Once oil shows evidence of coming through, then the bolt is tightened back up. This is in Bentley's as well -- I followed the procedure after installing the head on my 2.0L -- maybe it is different than the 2.1, but I doubt it.
