I went to work on my g/f's 90 900t c/v while she was down here this weekend. I removed the back seat and plugged the two relays I bought in. And... voila! Nothing!
Okay, I lied. It made a clicking noise. Upon further inspection, the clicking was definitely coming from the relays, or the sockets they were mounted in. The sockets can't possibly be bad, as the Fasten Seatbelt light works (which also has the relay mounted in the same under-seat cluster).
I adjusted the manual valve for the top and noticed whether it was in the manual or auto position, the hydraulic fluid (I assume that's what it is) was still being pumped into the c/v motor everytime I manually adjusted the top. When pressing the switch though, we got nothing but the clicking. No fluid movement.
There is also a slight leak at the valve in the trunk, but I don't think that could possibily be causing anything. You never know with these cars though (at least, I never know).
The top had worked before, intermittently (read: infrequently and whenever it felt like it) before I messed around back there and found a dead relay (copper wire not connected to the conductor). Now it won't work at all.
So yeah, any ideas? Could it be the motor finally went south? I'd rather not buy a new motor unless I was certain.
I also want to fix this so I can call up the Pittsburgh "dealership" we bought this from and give them a piece of my mind.
Thanks again guys.
