I may post this again in order to get some help with my problem, but this thread seems to fit the bill for now. I found an unmolested 1987 900 turbo 3dr in a bone yard - rose quartz w/very nice burgundy cloth, FILTHY x10, no rust nor body damage...until the dufus loader operator picked it up so I could put my wheels on it, now theres two dents in the right sill & the RR wheel arch is pushed in a bit :( The car is 99.9% complete, with only the contents of the fuse box raided. I paid $500 on blind faith figuring it probably had a bad tranny (I've got a donor car w/a well treated 90' 5spd waiting). I figured worst case, the car has new Boges at all corners, anti sway bars (my 85' has none), new cat back exh., perfect light lenses all around, turbo, etc...Anyway, I restocked the fuses & relays (that box full of Saab sh!t finally came in handy!) & to my surprise the car fired right up & after freeing up the rusted brakes - drove away nicely!!! I got pinched by the cops for driving w/o plates...court summons & $125 towing/storage :( but was able to determine the tranny is FINE! :) So here's why I think the car got junked - needs a header down pipe (no problem), dashpot (optional), oxygen sensor (did that yesterday), & possibly an AMM...the thing STINKS so badly I tear up as if I had been maced - ever been behind an old El Camino with a Holly four barrel getting 6 miles per gallon? - it's like that only 100 times worse. The used oxygen sensor (worked fine when removed from our 95'900s) I installed reads .500v upon starting dropping to a steady (not fluctuating) .401v when warmed up. Terminals 3 & 6 on the AMM read .308 ohms (Bentley says it should be .380 ohms) cold (50 deg. F). The car has tons of potential & I feel great about saving it from the crusher - anyone thinking of junking a Saab should put it on TSN so as to preserve the last of a great line of cars. I want to get it back on the road & am tempted to swap in the good AMM out of my 85' 900t, but I'm worried about frying it & I don't want to disable my other car in the attempt. Any/all advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!
