Well, like I said, it is the next thing that you would do when replacing the clutch slave. Once the clutch slave is removed, then the input shaft seal can be removed. I had to use the hot wrench ( propane torch ) to heat up the housing so the shaft seal would pop out. There is a terrific DIY step by step on the Townsend website.
I would study the Townsend instructions, and follow them as recommended. I don't try to set world records when doing the repair. That may be why is wasn't changed before, and it probably should have been.
