end of story. They're dirty, but incredibly effective. Closest pad to my 2003 M3 convertible.
Rotors, hard to say. I got a set of slotted rotors years ago from SPG9, I think. KVR or somesuch.
You shouldn't be having problems with rotors for over 60-80K miles, (even with my automatic trans they last a long time and can probably be turned or the lip on the outside ground down at 80K). It might be worth the $40 or so per rotor to get them cryotreated but I wouldn't. For all practical purposes the Hawk HP+ pads are so strong they can lock the wheels whenever...modulating them and having GREAT tires is by far the solution to short consistent stopping distance. BTW, I don't have noise from my Hawks with the slotted rotors either.
I've used metalmasters for years and about the ønly thing good about them is they last a long time and have little dust. The dust they do have is corrosive and rusting/pitting, though, so clean your wheels once a month or after a long trip. With my Hawk pads, I clean once a week although I also wash the car once a week too! The metalmasters don't fade but they also are greasy when cold or haven't been hit for 10-15 minutes. They do heat up quickly though and are consistent if medium grip. DeLuxe Axxis pads are good enough but fade after two quick stops from freeway speeds. They're super quiet and virtually dustfree though. Pick your poison carefully!
