Unless your car has serious mileage, I wouldn't suspect the FP. I've got an 85' 900t & the FP doesn't go 'BUZ BUZ' like my 83' base does when you turn the ign. on.
The 85' crapped out on me around 110 or 115k a few years ago & it was the ign. ctrl. unit (left inner fender - easy & cheap fix), then again shortly thereafter & that time it was the distributer...the car had been sputtering sporadicly & stalling after cold start up for a few days prior to just plain stopping on the interstate. I 'frankensteined' a functioning distributer from my ever expanding pile of parts...but you can get a rebuild kit for about $120 thru eEuroparts - I also believe the Townsend site has good info on this...I haven't been there in a while, maybe I'll go poke around there for a brush up later. Other than some IAC/NTC issues I've yet to correct, no problems since.
