Greasing the clutch input shaft

My thanks to those that have provided help/thoughts over last 2 weeks.
91T rebuilt trans (still exchangeable) & new clutch kit from eEuro (questionably) installed by local import shop. Mild+ grind into 2d and sometimes 3rd, lessens with hot trans. Rare if ever reverse clunk.
+70% of time there is a mild+ clunk, when idling, and just shifting into 1st, 2nd, and I'll need to dblck the other gears. Depressed clutch pedal consistently engages at least 2 or more inches from floor, as released upward. I'm having problems finding DOT 4 locally, but will track some down for a positive pressure bleed.
To my Qs (has been years since I did a clutch [have read this forum, twinsaabs, Townsend, still learning/trying to complete my mental picture]): the clutch shaft and clutch friction disk move together fore/aft, as a unit, with clutch pedal action, sliding through the flywheel pilot bearing?
The input shaft splines that insert into the transmission seem to be the key area to lube (without overdoing it wrt to the disk and flywheel)? The front splined end at the slave/final drive area isn't as critical to be lubed?
If the radiator is pulled, using the 8mm bolt + 15/16" socket or drilled channel iron tips, etc, can the the input shaft be completely removed (don't normally need to do), leaving the full (non-spacered) PP fingers to keep the clutch disk pinned securely centered and in place against the flywheel to reinsert the input shaft?
It appears this is a combo mildly+ bad synchro and/or shift fork + a clutch drag problem
