Same (yet unsolved) issue w/my 85' 900t - I've currently got a wine bottle cork in the throttle body hose that goes to the AIC, which goes to full open if connected...resulting in a soaring 3k 'idle'. I've lived w/the cork jerry rig for about a year so far (lots of distractions), as the only down side is a tricky warm up procedure & once at operating temp. everything is fine...I'm getting 34mpg too! I've tested the NTC sensor at multiple temperatures & it's pretty close to spec. - I also swapped in a known good AIC valve, w/no change. Despite your having no success replacing the NTC sensor - that's my next move, to be followed by an AMM...then perhaps an ECU? BTW, I've heard a bad FPR can cause an overly rich mixture & a blown bypass valve diaphram can cause stalling problems...worth mentioning - also run an ohmmeter between term. #3 & #6 of your AMM, it should be +- 380ohms & you can adj. the setting with a screwdriver by removing the tamper proof plug (drill two small holes just deep enough to allow you to pull it off w/needle nose pliers) if it's still there. Please post your findings, I'll do the same. :)
