These are not the deforming thread type locking bolts. Those are use once and toss. I've done just fine with the blue loctite and proper torquing.
Typically the blue is used for items you will want to diassemble again. Red is for things you don't want to take apart again. Since the holding power is a function of the surface area of the joint, a big bolt like the caliper carrier bolts will hold really, really well with blue. The only force to cause the bolt to back out would be vibration, and that's not going to happen with that much surface area covered in blue loctite.
A bolt that big with red loctite may never come out again.
