I just picked up a rebuilt rear passenger caliper from Eeuroparts for my 1989 900T. I must say, the overall quality of the rebuild is the best I have seen. They started with a nice core, the pin bushings are of the original style with dust caps, the bleeder threads were in good shape, the adjuster mechanism works, a new pad spring was included, and it had a good finish.
My question is, they did not replace the core plug located on top of the E-brake lever shaft. This leaves the top of the shaft and the retaining circlip exposed to the elements, and in a recess to boot. I assume this was an omission on their part, rather than a new design concept utilizing a seal under the shaft circlip? Unfortunately I noticed this AFTER I installed the caliper. Anybody know where to buy domed core plugs?
