first-tested compression tester on other turbo-150 even. second, middle two cylinders were at 45-60 before a squirt of wd40-there had been water sat on the pistons for a month or so, figured that wd would maybe loosen up any stuck rings, without affecting compression too much. after wd, got closer to 90 even. actually, readings were more like 110, 95, 90, 100 (1234) but i said 90 cause it's far enough from 150 to make a point. with oil on pistons-straight to 180. i havn't done much work at this point, just slapped a head on. stopped there to check compression, as i didn't want to do the extra unless it was tested good. while i would love to have an extra car for parts, the wife won't allow it!, also, would rather pay for another block than mess with a block that had been through all that. i have another block with a knocking bearing-don't know which one. pulled it from the black 92 last year. figured i might check that lump out first, then do the bearings and leave it at that. have forklif, so pulling is not a problem. it's an auto-don't know how hard it is to split engine/trannie with an auto. going to put a manual in in the winter-but don't want to get a doner car, just get bits from a yard. got 4 cars and a boat already! know all about karma-no worries there! won't be selling any piece of junk to anyone. my ebay feedback is 100% and i'm proud of it! i don't know, sometimes feel like i should get a kia or something, but then i look at those lines, and feel the turbo pull....not to mention avoiding deer-very satisfying! only for a saab....
