My 88 TC auto also will not start when it gets hot. My problem is the starter.
When the starter gets hot, it will not turn the car over. Sorry, I can't recall if the lights, etc. dim.
I have found as a work around is to immediately start the car after I shut it down. Perhaps the hot part of the starter rotates, I'm not sure, but I found this works and the car starts.
I will be changing the starter soon now that school is over.
