'87 converted to later model brakes (rear e-brake)

I have an '87 that was converted to the later brake system prior to me owning it, IOW the I have the wheel pin and the e-brake is now in the back. My problem is the original e-brake cables are still located up front and are "zip-tied" around the shocks. I was swapping my winters to summers yesterday and the old right front e-brake cable had come loose and was dangling against the wheel. How do I deal with these old cables? Sawzall them off?! Another alternative method to remove them? The zip-tie thing is just not right in my opinion. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
