chaz is most likely right. i am just about to replace the block for the dead rings reason. my advice-try cleaning cylinders with gas, then check again a day later. if the rings were just rusty, then you will still have 150 or so. if they go back down again (didn't check the previous post for your numbers), then the rings are shot. my heavily overheated block read somewhere around 50-90 across all 4, then straight to 180 with oil. engine oil is just too thick to establish ring condition. on the contrary, it actually is really only used to confirm poor condition. wd40 is better to check for rusty rings, as it doesn't add much sealing power, but will free the rings. for me, i couldn't be bothered to mess with a likely dead block. good luck
