Brake squeak can be many things.

1) Pads can squeak by the same mechanism as chalk on a blackboard. Filling the leading and trailing edges to a 45 degree angle can eliminate that.
2) Brakes can squeal if the support is rusted and they cannot fully move back from the rotor after release of the pedal. You need to pull the caliper, pull the pads, and file the rust and then grease the mechanism.
3) Metal on metal may squeak.
I like OE brake pads, as every time I try something else I regret it.
