temp goes to mid way from cold, at idle. fans come on and off at mid way. holds steady. then, when i drive it, it starts to drift up a little. if i lean on it at all, it drifts up towards the red ( i stopped before it touched). at that temp (210f) the fans were still coming on and off the same as if it was midway up the guage. took a RAYNGER temp guage and pointed it at the rad, and near the temp switch it read 85f, and the inlet and outlet pipes were 180 odd(outlet being more like 160). had already replaced thermostat at this point, with no change. have run some rad flush through, but doesn't seem to have done anything. the po had overheated the car, badly, and i also found a split expansion tank. as far as i can tell, the tstat is doing it's job, and the fans/switch setup is working fine. question; anyone had their rad cleaned at a rad place? results? mine looks so good from outside-no evidence of leaks or damage, i would hate to send it to the saab parts heaven. any thoughts before i commit to $50 cleaning fee would be appreciated. thanks all.
