Thanks you to the hundreds of posts to find and solve the water leaks on these addicting cars. I've been searching for 2 months to find the source of the puddles on the floor of my '91 900 CSET. Read hundreds upon hundreds of posts here on places to look for the source of the water:
I searched, checked, and cleaned up the A/C evap, front windshield seals, firewall seals, water outlet hoses in pass wheel well, rubber door seals, window gaps, rear window seals, etc, etc, etc... None were showing any signs of problems or the source of the leak.
It was fun for me surching through all these areas looking... I guess I have a sick sense of fun though.... Yet frustrating in the end to not find the source of the puddles on both the driver's side and passenger side. How could water be on both sides I thought???? Well it turns out none of the hundreds of posts I read suggested to check what was actually going on.
Finally on a day when torrential rains were brewing, I sat in the car and patiently awaited the downpour... flashlight and scuba gear in hand.
Finally after about 5 minutes of solid rain, the water SOURCES became obviously apparent, and I hadn't seen it mentioned in any of the posts I read... The Cloth Top!
Apparently the cloth top was no longer repelling and beading up water. The top was getting soaked, and water was coming in at about 15 - 20 different drip points through the top. I almost could have taken a shower with all the drip points coming through as a steady stream.
So, a little 303 Products is on the way and it should fix up the water repellent characteristics of the top. Now the fun part of cleaning the removed carpets, drying out the rubber sound proofing material, and attempting to repair the slight rust damage to the floor boards.
Without the hundreds of posts about sourcing the leaks, I wouldn't have learned so much, and gotten to the resolution! Thanks to all who have posted solutions over the years...
