As a back country skier, you have to be somewhat adventurous - why not apply some of that to your car? Once you get a few screws out you'll realize how easy some repairs are...a tune up is pretty simple & replacing the reverse light switch is childs play! The horn might just be a dirty connection & the window might spring to life w/a bit of WD40 or PB Blaster on the regulator linkage...all you have to do is remove the door panel - I can do it with a swiss army knife in 3min max. AC repairs should be left to a professional who has the proper equipment, but your PS malady (stiff?) could just be a seized universal joint that can be loosened up w/some of that PB Blaster.
You should enter a search word relating to each issue you encounter at the top of the board - pretty much everything you need to know is here. Of course you can always post questions directly, there are a lot of people here that are extremely generous with sharing the knowledge they've obtained over the years...though a bit of research will help you better understand the info given. Townsendimports.com & fixmysaab.com are good places to poke around. After you've experienced a few DIY victories, you may develop a taste for it!
BTW, I wear size 45/11.5 & could use a pair of NNN BC boots ;)
