It would seem that most seized Saabs are from a bad HG that lets coolant into the cylinders. After a few weeks/months of sitting the corrosion in the cylinders rusts the rings to the block. Meantime the coolant corrodes amd pits the cylinder walls. Won't ever have decent compression. Per the local Saab mechanics they never rebuild the block. If the Chaz approach doesn't lead to satisfaction, get another engine. I think you'd be able to get one of those Nicad jumper batteries into the some U-pull-its. With that you could crank an engine and get a cold compression reading.
I was at Antelope on Wed-Got the leather boot-That 90T looks quite clean. It had a lot of oil changes logged in the owner's manual. If I was looking for a turbo I'd look at that engine.
