Correct Orientation of Hooter

Hmm this could be it. I know there's at least one picture in the Bentley manual that's wrong on this.
Can someone whose dead sure on the correct orientation of the hooter valve snap a pic or describe which way it's supposed to go? I've tried to think about it, the pressures involved, the way the valve operates and I could justify good reasons as to why its either endport-into-turbo elbow or side-port-into-turbo elbow.
... I just installed mine in the same orientation as the old one (but the engine's been rebuilt/out/etc so who knows)?
