those three funky nuts are not fun.
the front two are usually not too bad, but the back one gets loused up with crap and gets sticky.
I take out one or both of the front seats for easier access (an easy job ) and then using an extra long screwdriver, i place the blade on one of the three lobes and whack it with a hammer repeatedly. once its spinning stick the screwdriver vertically down between two lobes to spin them quickly off. the bottom is a carriage bolt type design and will drop out. have some standard 1/2 inch nuts ready to replace the funky ones with.
