Huh? I thought the beauty of the 900 (and other intelligently-designed cars) was that they have separate lights for the parking brake (on the '88 instrument cluster it says "PARK BRAKE") and low fluid (reads "BRAKE FLUID.")
Either the switch at the base of the parking brake lever is stuck on or bent out of position (this happens all the time) or there is a short to ground in its supply wire.
As for the upshift light, check for the presence of a bulb. Lots of people take them out to make the light stay off. If it's there, check the bulb. Compared with all the other bulbs on the dash, it has to turn on and off most often, and incandescent light bulbs don't like that very much, so it only lasted eighteen years on your car. If the bulb is good, you may be having contact issues between the bulb socket contacts and the printed circuit sheet on the back of the cluster. You've probably dealt with this with the instrument cluster illumination bulbs. Either replace the twist-in housings or clean the contact points or both.
