Thanks t french. I don't think it has a block heater, and now that you mention it, it probably is on the transmission, not the engine block given that it is very low on that side. So the up shift sensor is probably what this is.
I suspect that this is not something I need to replace, but if I did unscrew it, would transmission fluid drain from that hole?
