pp 854-59:
To change the antifrosting thermostat, as from the 1981 models:
Remove the large rubber grommet in the rhs of the bulkhead.
Wtihdraw the capillary tube from the cooling fins of the evaporator.
remove the thermostat retaining nu inside the air intake box.
remove the thermostat through the hole in the rhs of the bulhead and disconnect the cables. Reverse to refit.
pp 854-102
On electrical ac system, clarion, 1984 models, an antifreeze thermostat 9171) is mounted øn the heater box in the interior.
It's also possible you have a bastard setup as from 1981-on, where the thermostat is under the black plastic protective cover next to the evaporator core housing. Follow the electrical wires from the compressor over to the evaporator housing...the antifrost switch is a normally on to ground...it opens when the evaporator gets too cold.
