I've done it on my 88 900T. I had bent pieces of bar stock shaped like an L. One end bolted into the foglight bolt holes on the back of the bumper, the other end had a hole for the lights to down through. Works great. I wired a relay to the foglight switch wire where it goes into the fusebox. The relay reverses the logic so the driving lights are off with low beam where as foglights would have been on with low beam. No problems at all with cooling.
