I'd be careful here...if your turbo blew a bunch of metal into your sump, you could have a pile of metal swarf waiting to get sucked up into your oil pump and then into the bearings....and no the filter won't seive it all out first. I would drain your oil into a clean bucket and look for metal shavings or tiny particles...change and dissect you oil filter looking for the same. If it's all clear...breath a sigh of relief, have a beer and then put in new oil....do a compression test if you think the head gasket is shot...but that's probably OK. Pull the turbo intake bellows and check the shaft for play...if' it's moving around...pull the turbo, you need another one.
IF you do have swarf and crap in your oil....pull the motor and flush every oilway and passage, else you'll need an engine before very long. It's rare that turbos pour metal shreads into the sump...but it can happen...keep us posted!
