An interesting 82 8vt observation Posted by Chadwick [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to share this, thought it was kind of funny. I have a client who has an 82 900T. The car was found in a barn and we drug it out hoping to fix it up for him to have. The car is totally rust free, 40k miles, hasn't been inspected since 1992. I got the car out of the barn for him, changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, thermostat, oxygen sensor, fuel filter, changed the oil, and put new gas in it... and it cranked right over. However, while walking around the engine area with the hood up and the car running I noticed that the ENTIRE wiring harness on the passenger side had been eaten through by a mouse. Oxygen sensor wires, everything, the entire harness where it goes through into the cabin in front off the passenger door, just eaten totally in half... BUT THE CAR RUNS GREAT! I'm re-wiring everything today, but just wanted to share that interesting story and testament to how strong and non-electrically dependent the old 8 valves were.
