rear alignment Posted by vvack0matic [Email] ![]() ![]() |
after a good amount of waiting and getting into a 2 hour conversation with the alignment guy of why the sun was yellow, the computer that my car was hooked to started to spit out info on how my wheels are riding.
after some intense inspection it showed i had a lower ball joint falling which needed me to attend to, and whats strange it seems the rear of my car is tracking to the right slightly, i included a pic,
after looking for any kind of a way to adjust it, we thought a bent trailing arm or bushing rotted out.
after inspection we found no bent arm and all the bushings looked to be in good health,
discussion of a bent axle arose but the conclusion to that was the wheels would have a - toe or a + toe, not both trailing in the same direction.
so as it stands i have no clue where to look next.
what could offset the rear tiers to a degree that it pulls them to one direction.
let me give a brief history
back in the day perhaps a year ago i installed new shocks and inspected the rear for rust which came out to be none, unbolted it from the swing arm, unbolted the anti-roll bar, and proceeded to change the shock,
did passenger side rear first.
bolted everything up tight and every-thing went very smooth, whet over to driver-side rear,
unbolting the swing arm, and in trying to pull the bolt was a sun of a b--- i had to use a hammer to knock out the bolt to release the swing arm & anti-roll bar,
re-bolting was just as hard, i had to loosen the trailing arm to get the bolt for the swing arm in, tightened up the anti-roll bar and and last retightened the trailing arm.
any thoughts come to mind on how the rear could shift so it trails to the right?
