Thanks, that worked. I had tried it at first but was more "persistent" after I knew it was the way to go... and then, it did not seem to release at first! I replaced the old (original) broken one with one from Europarts but it was not quite right - the base had two prongs and they did not fit into the circular hole of my 1985, perhaps the access hole thru the body was wider (or not circular) in other years...? And the antenna lead wire on the new unit was very short - it will not reach the cable in teh car. I am off to Radio Shack today to see if they can resolve that, as I need a cable with one of each (female and male).
