The random idle issue is usually the IAC valve (the large cylindrical object on top of the head the front of the car. As far as wired vaccuum issues, I would also check your turbo bypass valve as well as inspecting the large rubber elbow leading to your turbo intake. If it is torn (like mine was ),unmetered air is sucked in by the turbo right after the mass air flow sensor. This makes it impossible for the ECU to properly calculate the fuel mixture and the problem ususally get much worse as the turbo spools up.
As far as your APC is concerned, check the wires leading to it and see if they are in good shape. Replacement APC boxes are pretty cheap ($25-40) at the junkyard or on FleaBay.
