Onlsow is right when he says: "The heater control valve is worn and doesn't shut off the flow of hot coolant in the heatercore fully any more.
Replace heater valve.
Make sure valve control rod has not jumped off, first.
This is normal ware stuff on a classic 900."
I'd like to add that when heatervalves wear out they sometimes leak coolant, so if coolant drips down on the driver's side mat around the pedal area, that's what's happening. Is it possible to turn UP the heat? If so, then the heater valve control rod is connected.
