i went with PPG and for (2 quarts of primer, 3 quarts of sealer, gallon of paint (with its catalyse made 2 gallons) and gallon of clear. costed me 280. buxs, i did go with their shop line clear, its way cheaper then their expensive stuff, but i was assured with 3 coats and wax there should be no problem that should arise using the shop line.
theirs a little lady that works all alone in a ppg shop in key-west and she has all the time in the world to talk with her costumers. not like other places that wasn't your money and rush you out the door.
let me see if i have her number.... ok i lost the location of my wallet
but the number should be listed anywhere you search. I'm sure she can give you product codes and information on what to ask for at another ppg. or even ship paint.. might be unlikely but doesnt hurt to ask.
for the 900 hatch it took gallon and a half (with catalyse) to paint and a gallon of clear (two coats), some time i need to order more clear and put the 3rd coat on.
I'm very pleased with how the metallic Edwin grey turned out.
but the clear coat needs to be sanded with 400 grit and then a third heavy
coat. anyhow the overall product of ppg i have no problem with.
