Another thing...
You didn't mention your transmission, which is perhaps the biggest factor to consider. Autos suck gas on the highway, period, so don't expect to go much over 20 mpg if you have one. The 5-speeds have the overdrive 5th gear, which has no huevos when you want to accelerate but will allow you to cruise at a given highway speed with about 2,000 fewer engine rpm's.
75-95 with a little fun tells me that you used the turbo:) Good for smiles, bad for mileage.
As far as improving your mileage, be sure to look at the basics before trying to "fix" your car. Did you adjust your tire pressure? Low tires hurt your mileage. Did you have the a/c on? This can also affect your mileage. In fact, if it doesn't work or if you're in an area where you don't need a/c for the winter, removing the a/c belt can only help your mileage. Did you have the windows and/or sunroof open? If so, did you open the rear windows? Opening the windows/sunroof hurts your aerodynamics and, in turn, your mileage. Opening/cracking the rear windows can alleviate some of this problem. It also stops the "helicopter" noise you get when opening the sunroof alone.
As far as mechanical stuff, your AMM is not likely to affect your highway mileage because it's mainly there to control your idling. You are correct in first considering vacuum leaks. Has your car received performance upgrades? Obviously, they hurt mileage. You didn't mention your history with the car, but it is possible that someone who owned it before you put a higher-pressure fuel regulator on it to match performance upgrades or to "solve" driveability issues (one of which is to combat a "hunting" idle). Which fuel pressure regulator do you have? If it's not the 2.5 bar and you have no performance upgrades, try switching to the 2.5 bar and see if you get the "hunting" idle problem. This problem, as well as mileage problems, can often be solved by replacing the oxygen sensor, as mentioned by other posters.
