Radiator Repair - Post Mortum Posted by dave24 [Email] (#457) [Profile/Gallery] (more from dave24) on Mon, 24 Sep 2007 04:25:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last week I posted about my dumb move missing the top mounting hole for the drivers-side fan, and creating an unwanted hole in the radiator of my 86 900. The radiator was less than 2 years old so I wanted to try and avoid buying another. It's aluminum. RayF suggested using an epoxy from 3M called DP420. I found it on line. About $20 including shipping. I removed the radiator, cleaned the area per instructions, mixed the 2 part epoxy per instructions and worked it into the screw-sized hole. Let it set up for 24 hours and so far it is holding up with absolutely no problems.
Of course YMMV, but this one worked for me. Thanks RayF.
