Finally back in a saab again!
Very simple question here- I finally picked up the 86 spg I have coveted for years, and wanted to take advantage of a local parts car for a few cosmetic things.
Simply put, I wanted to grab the perfect gear shift knob and rubber boot from another 86 900 to replace my split boot and faded knob. Is this an operation possible to do quickly? I mean, the guy with the parts car is still trying to sell it somewhat complete, and agreed to give me the knob and boot only if I replaced them with my own. Is it practical/possible to drive over with a few tools and swap them in an hour or so? How exactly would I go about doing this?
I am not having much luck finding mechanical information about this on the greater internet, and I don't really want to just start going at this fellows car (or my own) without knowing exactly what I am getting into or might need. so I defer this simple query to the experts here, where I have enjoyed reading posts for the last few months anticipating my return to the saab family. Thanks in advance!
