This was for the.saabguy. Your email isnt working!

Hi
Its pretty simple. You will only need 5 things. The windshield
"silicone" they call it somthings else, fiberglass cloth. Both you can get
at a bodyshop supply company. A silicone gun, rubber cloves and
mineral spirits for clean up.

1st open the top, (pull it back) to a workable position. Line up the
cut markes and duct tap them on the OUTSIDE. The better you line it up.
The better it looks. Apply a coat of the "silicone" at least 3 inch
over both sides(on the underside). So like a 5-6 inch wide strip if you
have a slit Then smooth out a nice even layer. Good to have a friend
help you to apply gentle pressure against the out side so you dont push
through the ducttape. If near the edge you can do it yourself. Then
apply the fiberglass cloth 4in wide 2in longer on both ends. Now just lay
it (the silicone) on over the fiber glass, again at least an couple
inches over the cloth . A nice layer. Nothing easy when it comes to laying
the silicon over the fiberglass cloth. I put a glob of it in my hand
and applied it. You need those extra inches because the fiber glass might
move on you a bit. Your going to let it dry overnight with the top
half up(in the same position you did the work in. If you did it with
the top closed you could never get the fabric to line up.

Let me know how you do. It was my 1st and last time. A friend said I
should put an add in the paper and charge 150. He couldnt believe how
nice it came out. Me neither!

Oh another thing if you have had duct tape on the underside at any
point. You need to clean that like crazy. Because the duct tap "glue"
leaches to the surface after a few months.

If your top is NOT black then a tiny strip of fabric over the slit
underneath might work. Not sure.

On areas were I push through some "silicon" I have a 16th of an inch
silicon line in the top. But on the other areas the fabric lined up so
nice its unnoticeable. No one has ever noticed until the duct tap
leached through(3 months later). It looked like someone poured an x with a
soda. And its sticky v but it will clean off. Then leach through again
in another 3 months untill its all gone. Oh the wonders of ductap! I had
had it ductapped underneath for a while untill I figured this out

Test it the next day with the water hose. I needed to apply another
coat to one side of the x. Its been over 1 and 1/2 years no problems.
And no leaks!

Good luck
Glen
