trunk lock cylinder on '87 900 came out...

Just picked up an 87 900* and the trunk lock cylinder came out when trying the key (5 dr, non-central locking). Previous owner had mentioned troubles with trunk lock.
So, wondering if this is a typical problem and what i should be looking for when i crawl in later today with a flashligfht.
Can the cylinder simply be popped back in place? Is there a peice that breaks that can be (somewhat easily) replaced?
In advance, many thanks!
* 87 saab with 227km, Vancouver Island Car. Had it checked at a local garage before buying and it tested fine (needs new front shocks but aside from that it's solid w/ very little rust. Engine (8 valve) still has lots of life and feels as strong as a '95 new gen 900 i once owned). I've had 2 saabs previously and I'm incredibly glad to have one in our driveway again. As is obvious to most everyone on this board, these cars get into your blood and it's tough to find anything else that compares. Just glad to be a classic saab owner and back on this board again.
