motor mounts and life of car

So my local mechanic concluded that my 93 900s 123K is vibrating under acceleration due to need for 25,000K tuneup (coil, plugs wires etc) and most importantly need for new motor mounts. Two are badly worn and one is cracked, he said. Total cost around $1,300 with labor. Does that sound reasonable? This is a good local mechanic shop where they work on almost all cars, and but is this something for the dealer or saab specialist?
Also is it honestly worth it to sink that much in a car that is now being used (new job situation) for about 1,500 miles per month of commuting, mostly interstate. Motor seems fine, it burns virtually no oil although the coolant level seems to drop every couple hundred miles, the car doesn't smoke and has had a new head gasket as well as new fuel pump in last couple of years. I've heard the auto trans can be trouble spot on these cars, this one isn't a turbo and isn't driven with a lot of rabbit starts.
I came to conclusion a while back that do it yourself for items like motor mounts, fuel pumps isn't realistic for me: its beyond my ability and available time
We like the car a lot is very solid and good on the highway, but wonder if it's worth keeping, Any thoughts? Thanks
